Audi A8

Audi A8 Brakes Automatically Upon Sensing Danger In The Road

Advancements in automotive technologies keep evolving at a rate which seems to be more and more biased towards safety and comfort for drivers and passengers alike. The new Audi A8 is definitely in a powerfull class of its own with a couple of new safety features that are so advanced.

One of the features that most impressed me is Audi’s on-board navigation system that delivers real time driving conditions to the onboard computer, and then automatically makes decisions based on the information it receives. For instance, with this system the car automatically ‘reads’ the road ahead via the navigation system, sensing turns in the road ahead and then automatically adjusting the lights to shine into the turn to give the driver more road visibility.

The Audi A8 also has a radar-based ACC stop & go facility, which means you are much less likely to rear end the car in front when moving at a snail’s pace in heavy traffic. The intelligent system will basically keep a safe distance between you and car in front. A while back we reported on Volvo trucks having this stop and go functionality.

Completing the refined interior is an advanced Bang & Olufson sound system, delivering a staggering 1,400 watts of mind blowing sound through 19, yes…19 speakers. At this time these safety systems are confirgured for the model range sold in Germany.
